The Arabic name of Surah Az-Zaariyat is الذاريات, also written Adh-Dhariyat. Adh-Dhariyat means “The Winnowing Winds” or “The Scattering Winds”. The name comes from the very first word of the surah. The surah has 60 verses in total. It is a Makki surah, revealed in Makkah before the Prophet’s migration to Madinah. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 67 of 114.
