The Arabic name of Surah Az-Zaariyat is الذاريات, also written Adh-Dhariyat. Adh-Dhariyat means “The Winnowing Winds” or “The Scattering Winds”. The name comes from the very first word of the surah. The surah has 60 verses in total. It belongs to the Makki surahs, the chapters revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 67 of 114.
