About Surah At-Talaq
The Arabic name of Surah At-Talaq is الطلاق. At-Talaq means “Divorce”, which is also its subject. Abdullah ibn Mas’ud described it as “the shorter Surah an-Nisa”. It was revealed in Madinah, so it is counted among the Madani surahs. According to Abdullah ibn Mas’ud, it was revealed after the verses on divorce in Surah Al-Baqarah. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 99 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah At-Taghabun and before Surah At-Tahrim.
