Across the UK, many children go to madrasah at the local masjid after school, and that is a real blessing. But the school run, homework, clubs, long commutes and shift work can make a fixed evening class hard to keep up. In some towns there are few teachers for adults, for sisters, or for students who want Hifz or advanced Tajweed. Our online Quran classes bring a dedicated teacher into your home at a time you choose, so learning fits around school, work and Salah.
Smart Quran Academy is an online Quran academy that teaches students in the UK and many other countries to one standard. See our online Quran classes worldwide. Every lesson is live and one-to-one, and every teacher is screened before joining. You can read how we select and certify our teachers before you book. Whether you live in a city with a large Muslim community or a small town with no Quran teacher nearby, your child gets the same structured plan and the teacher’s full attention.

Every course is live and one-to-one, so the teacher moves at the student’s pace. That might be a five-year-old learning the Arabic letters, a teenager working towards Hifz alongside GCSEs, or an adult improving their recitation.
The Arabic letters and their correct sounds (Makharij), vowels and joining letters. This is the foundation for reading the Quran correctly.
Fluent, beautiful recitation with the rules of Tajweed. The teacher listens to every letter and corrects it as you read.
A personal Hifz plan with new lessons, regular revision and monthly progress reports, for children and adults.
Correct Salah and its duas, daily duas, the six Kalimas, Forty Hadith with explanation, and basic Islamic knowledge for children and new Muslims.
Understand what you recite. A qualified teacher explains the meaning, context and lessons of the verses in clear English.
For dedicated students who want to learn the ten authentic recitations with a specialist Qari.
Parents of young children can read our guide to Quran classes for kids in the UK and our guide to starting Noorani Qaida in the UK. If your child is ready to memorise, see our Hifz classes for UK students. Not sure where to start? Compare all our online Quran courses, or book your 3 free trial classes and the teacher will assess the student’s level.
Joining is simple, and lessons fit easily around the school day and the working week.

Every class is a live lesson with one teacher and one student. On the Monday to Friday plan, each class is 30 minutes, 5 days a week, 20 classes a month. There are no group classes, and recorded videos never replace live teaching.
Join on Zoom from a laptop, tablet or phone. A stable internet connection is all you need, and a headset helps young children stay focused.
Teachers explain every rule in English. If you prefer, we can match a teacher who also explains in Urdu or Arabic.
Native Arabic-speaking teachers are available on our hourly packages.
Tell us whether you would like a male or female teacher. We match a teacher to the student's age, level, learning style and timetable.
Parents receive monthly progress reports and can join any live class at any time.
We teach 24/7, so every class is booked in UK time and you choose the slot. The UK is on Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) from late October to late March and on British Summer Time (BST, one hour ahead) for the rest of the year. Class timings are agreed in UK time (GMT/BST) and adjusted with you when the clocks change in March and October.
Five 30-minute classes a week, Monday to Friday (20 classes a month). A steady weekday routine suits most children, as well as Hifz students who need daily revision.
Saturday and Sunday classes for families whose weekdays are already full of school, homework and activities, and for adults who work during the week. Weekend classes are 30 minutes or 1 hour long, so you can pick the pace that suits you.
Early morning slots, for example after Fajr or before the school run.
Late-afternoon and early-evening slots once children are home and have had a break.
Later slots for working adults, for parents once the children are in bed, and for shift workers.
During half-term, Easter and the summer holidays, you can ask to move to a daytime slot while school is out.
A note on prayer times: in the UK, Maghrib can come before half past four in winter, and Isha can be very late in the summer months. Many families therefore choose a fixed clock time rather than “after Isha”. During Ramadan, many students move their class to after Iftar or before Suhoor.
Many families in the UK prefer a female teacher for their daughters, for young children, or for women and sisters who want to learn privately. Female teachers are available for all female students and children at no extra charge. Just mention it when you book your 3 free trial classes.
Classes take place in your own home, parents are welcome to sit in, and teachers may not contact students outside the academy’s official channels. If you would like a different teacher at any point, we will arrange one. Read more about female-only Quran classes online in the UK and our guide to learning with a female Quran tutor.
It is never too late to begin. Many adults in the UK grew up without regular Quran lessons. Others learned to read as children but never studied Tajweed, or have simply lost confidence over the years. A private one-to-one class means there are no classmates to keep up with: you start from your own level, even from the first letter, and progress at a pace that suits you.
New Muslims can learn the Arabic letters, short surahs, Salah and daily duas step by step with a patient teacher. Evening and weekend-only batches fit around a full working week. Read our guide to how adults can learn the Quran as beginners.
Every plan is for one-to-one classes, and you choose a monthly, 6-month or yearly plan. Longer plans cost less per month. Enrolling more than one child? We offer a family discount for brothers and sisters, so each child still has their own one-to-one class. See our schedule and fee plans for current fees and read our 7-day refund policy before you pay. You can book the 3 free trial classes without any payment details.
Plans (billed in USD; your bank converts to pounds): $45/month · $40/month for 6 months · $35/month for a year. 30-minute one-to-one classes. See all plans on our fees page.
