The Arabic name of Surah At-Takwir is التكوير. At-Takwir means “The Folding Up” (quran.com: “The Overthrowing”). The name comes from the word kuwwirat in the first verse, describing the sun being folded up. It belongs to the Makki surahs, the chapters revealed in Makkah before the Hijrah. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 7 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah ’Abasa and before Surah Al-Infitar.
The surah has two themes: the events of the Hereafter and the truth of the Prophet’s message.
