The Arabic name of Surah Ad-Duha is الضحى, also written Ad-Duhaa. Ad-Duha means “The Morning Brightness” (quran.com: “The Morning Hours”). It is named after the first word of the surah. It was revealed in Makkah, so it is counted among the Makki surahs. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 11 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Layl and before Surah Ash-Sharh.
The surah was sent to console the Prophet at a moment of distress, and it carries a message of hope and gratitude.
