The Arabic name of Surah Nooh is نوح, also written Nuh. Nuh is the Arabic name of the Prophet Noah (peace be upon him). It is also the surah’s subject, since the whole surah tells his story. It was revealed in Makkah, so it is counted among the Makki surahs. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 71 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Ma’arij and before Surah Al-Jinn.
