The Arabic name of Surah Al-Zilzali is الزلزلة, also written Az-Zalzalah. Az-Zalzalah means “The Earthquake”. The name comes from the word zilzal in the first verse. quran.com lists it as Madani; its notes record that scholars differ on whether it is Makki or Madani. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 93 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Bayyinah and before Surah Al-’Adiyat.
