The Arabic name of Surah Al-Ahqaaf is الأحقاف, also written Al-Ahqaf. Al-Ahqaf means “The Wind-Curved Sand Dunes”. The name is taken from verse 21, which mentions a messenger warning his people at al-Ahqaf. It is a Makki surah, revealed in Makkah before the Prophet’s migration to Madinah. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 66 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Jathiyah and before Surah Muhammad.
