The Arabic name of Surah Al-Mursalaat is المرسلات, also written Al-Mursalat. Al-Mursalat means “Those Sent Forth” (quran.com: “The Emissaries”). The name comes from the first word of the surah. It was revealed in Makkah, so it is counted among the Makki surahs. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 33 of 114. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Insan and before Surah An-Naba.
The surah affirms the Resurrection with arguments drawn from nature, human history and the human being’s own creation.
