The Arabic name of Surah An-Nasr is النصر. An-Nasr means “Help” or “Divine Support”. The word appears in the first verse. It was revealed in Madinah, so it is counted among the Madani surahs. Abdullah ibn Abbas is reported as saying it was the last complete surah revealed, and Ibn Umar linked it to the Farewell Pilgrimage. In the revelation-order list it is the last of the 114 surahs. In the order of the Mushaf it comes after Surah Al-Kafirun and before Surah Al-Masad.
Among the last surahs revealed, it speaks of victory and teaches the right response to success.
