The Arabic name of Surah An-Naas is الناس, also written An-Nas. An-Nas means “Mankind”. It is the final surah of the Quran and, with Al-Falaq, one of Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, the two surahs of seeking refuge. Scholars differ on whether it is Makki or Madani; quran.com lists it as Makki. In the revelation-order list used by quran.com, it is number 21 of 114. It closes the Quran, coming right after Surah Al-Falaq.
The surah teaches the believer to seek refuge in Allah from the inner harm of evil whispering.
